Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Some of these have been around for awhile, I’m glad someone finally pointed out the obvious.
“Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live” – The airheads with this little chestnut on their bumpers are confusing simple wordplay with incredible profundity. This bumper sticker sounds really deep until you realize that a.) it doesn’t mean a damn thing and b.) the dork in your office who asks if you’re workin’ hard or hardly workin’ is making an equally clever play on words.
The carbuncle this pops, has been festering for quite awhile and the pale gooey mess that erupts is pretty damn glorious. I enjoyed it immensely and I think you will too.

This post made me go back to my blog and introduce a new label, bumpersticker politics for categorizing my posts — something relatively new to me.
I have a “one bumpersticker at a time” rule. I want bumperstickers to say something back to all of the leftist bumperstickers that assail me daily as I drive around this college town. But nothing screams “self-absorbed prima donna” more than a car whose entire backside is a veritable billboard of bunk and bile, so I don’t want to go there.
My current bumpersticker was inspired by Mark Steyn. Ok, actually, I “totally” ripped it off from him (scroll to bottom of post to see it).
- philmon | 12/12/2007 @ 14:18Oooh..thanks for that link. Too good, TOO short. There are way too many such cutesy-liberal bumper stickers out there, and that post barely scratched the surface. In my neck of the woods there are lotsa of candidate stickers up in Santa Fe but not-too-many to none around here (Portales). I kinda like that!
- Buck | 12/12/2007 @ 15:05I personally think the mold was broken when some Lefty thinker came up with “You can’t hug your child with Nuclear Arms”. Kinda makes one pine for the simpler times of the Cold War.
