Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
We just put this list together during lunch at work. I think there are two guys who could claim credit for the idea, and no single one of us could claim credit for all of the contents.
The theme has to do with all these things in life that seem fun when you’re not doing them YET. And after you start, you’re all like, “What was I thinking? This blows big chunks.”
1. Riding a horse
2. Taking a vacation in a car with your family
3. Opening your sun roof on a sunny spring/summer day
4. Making your own beer/wine (until you get out of the n00bie stage)
5. Paddleboats
6. Camping…in a month that has the letter “R” in it
7. Inviting the neighborhood kids over to your home for your kid’s birthday
8. Volunteering as a club president/secretary/treasurer
9. Shopping in the mall with your wife
There’s more, but we forgot to nominate a secretary so nobody wrote it down.

1. Riding a horse just for the sake of riding a horse … yeah, not so much. Riding a horse as a mode of transportation on an outdoor outing… that can be cool.
2. If it’s your wife and kids, this should be cool — or else there’s problems that need to be worked out. If it’s your mom/dad and/or siblings … especially if it involves their kids and spouses and it isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time… bleah.
3. Yeah, but I still do it.
4. I’ve made quite a bit of beer, and I’ve only ruined a couple of batches. I’ve never thought it was terribly fun due to all of the cleanup and sanitation involved. But… as something for a few guys to do while shooting the breeze, drinking beer, and smoking a cigar, it can be fun.
5. Can’t remember ever doing this, but it does sound like it has in the courting arena. But I’m out of that arena.
6. I’m about to do this a week from Saturday. So I’ll find out. Plus we do like October camping here in my state.
7. Yeaaaaaaah…….
8. That never sounded like a good idea to begin with.
9. My wife’s pretty cool. And she’s a little more like a guy about shopping than most women. Plus, we’ve been known to split up and meet up somewhere later so she can do her thing and I can do mine. Which I guess kind of supports your point, as that’s not really “with”.
Another interesting exercise might be to go to the list and see the things you haven’t done and decide which of those you’d really like to try to work in sometime.
- philmon | 12/12/2007 @ 11:46Gotta disagree on some of these.
Well if we had a Hooters here with a hitching post, I would ride my horse to it. Hooters, Hitching, and Horses. Hey, is there a 3H Club?
Making wine, well that’s kind of why I have a vineyard.
Camping, any month, anywhere. Just don’t take the woman and children,
Cheers
