Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
This one goes on my list…
(Of course, Thanksgiving does come first.)
If you’re worried you can’t get it delivered in time, I’ll settle for that Supercar I was talking about before.

That is simply amazing. As a classic gaming enthusiast, I am very impressed with the creativity and craftsmanship displayed here. I was even more impressed when I noticed that the giant controller had been wired to an original 8-bit Nintendo deck, instead of a PC running an emulator application such as RockNES or Nesticle. (I sold my Nintendo years ago and today I use one of these to play the old-school titles on my computer.)
Seeing the familiar yellow Super Mario 3 box really brought back some memories, too. I wouldn’t be surprised if an original carton is a collectors item today. I distinctly recall one day in the fall of 1990, as a teenager…pedaling my bike about eight miles each direction. My misson was simple – ride all the way into town to buy a copy of this game at the local KB Toys in the mall. The game had only been out a few months, and eventually became the best-selling NES title of all time. I had $70 in cash in my pocket, which I had earned while mowing laws. It was just enough to cover the game’s $60 purchase price plus sales tax.
Ah, memories. Thanks for sharing this, Morgan.
- cylarz | 11/25/2008 @ 02:08I’d rather have the car. MUCH rather have the car. But only for a short-term loan… like a day. There’s that small matter of “traffic court” (or jail), as previously noted. 😉
