Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
First, my definition of peace. I don’t think it’s the definition they have in Oslo:
Peace is a situation in which all malevolent entities who would bring harm to the defenseless, lacking any moral code that would restrain them from doing so, are placed in situations that make them unable to do so.
:
“Unable”…does not mean unwilling or unready, for those are temporary characteristics. It means vanquished. It means defeated. Like the Soviet Union after the arms race. Like the Japanese Empire after the surrender. Like Saddam Hussein after he was fished out of his little hole.
Liz Cheney (Wizbang, via Rick) gets it, she knows exactly who gets the credit, and her idea is brilliant:

Of course, the great 0 loves himself too much to pass up a chance to do something noble like that.
- pdwalker | 10/12/2009 @ 07:13Ok, I´m officially in love with Liz Cheney. I know it won´t do any good, but just let me swoon here for a minute. Very smart to give good advice to Obama, knowing that he won´t take it. It would send such a powerful message!
- El Gordo | 10/12/2009 @ 10:40You’ve probably read this, as it’s the Number One e-mailed item from the NYT at the moment, but Tom Friedman had a sanity attack this weekend. This is the first time in living memory I’ve agreed with that twit, proving that stopped clocks ARE correct once or twice in a decade.
- bpenni | 10/12/2009 @ 12:56Stopped clock is right. Yes, Rick was gracious enough to provide an update crediting Mr. Friedman. I chose differently and stopped jotting things down at that point.
That’s the whole thing about being a stopped clock; if you are one, and you do agree with me, I just don’t give a damn. It’s the thing I just got done comparing you to, that has something important to say. You’re still a busted clock!
