Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...

The Grace Slick of his generation.
- vanderleun | 08/15/2009 @ 09:18How appropriate.
- pdwalker | 08/15/2009 @ 11:09Well… I made it 1:23 in before shrugging my shoulders and hitting the “comments” button. This is music? (thus sayeth The Ol Fart)

So noted. Your lawn. We no go there.
Dude…it’s the lyrics. You get all drunk & stoned and listen to the rhythm, then when you sober up you listen to the lyrics and it’s like, y’know, really heavy, man. Hmmmmmm…now which generation started that? 🙂
- mkfreeberg | 08/15/2009 @ 16:11I love Henry Rollins. He’s my gordo camino (that means “road guard”).
I don’t like his political views, he is way off in left field in that regard. And I have to agree with the grumpy Ol’ Fart, the music is not-so-good. But he has very deep lyrics. If you ever get a chance, check out his spoken word albums. He tells mesmerizing stories, with a very different take on life. He’s got a sense of humor that takes some getting used to, but mostly worth it. He has a poem at the end of Think Tank (I believe it is) that is really worth checking out.
Like I said, his political views are really out there, but when he’s ranting about everyday stuff, it strikes the bull’s-eye.
- AnonymousGuy | 08/16/2009 @ 01:58There is another another video put up shortly before Jan. 20 in which the genius behind “Liar” goes on and on and on about the hope he has for this new administration, and it’s just the same ol’ pablum. “Get past the divisiveness and come to solid solutions” — time to define define what those solid solutions would be — and full stop, abrupt and inevitable subject-change, just like we’ve seen so many times before.
The irony is like a cement wall. By prattling on about what a wonderful President Obama is going to be, Rollins provides an unintentional caricature of the person who falls for the “Liar” time after time. Ah, hah hah hah hah, oh, hoh hoh hoh hoh…sucker, sucker. I can’t help but wonder if, behind closed doors, people like him see and understand the connection.
- mkfreeberg | 08/16/2009 @ 08:43Dude…it’s the lyrics.
Ummm… if it’s the lyrics, then there are ways to make that point, no? (and I could get the gist of the “song” by only listening to 1:23) But you DO raise/make an interesting point. It’s been said there are two types of folks when it comes to music… those that feel first, listen later (as in the WORDS, if the piece is worth it) and those that comprehend the piece as a whole on the first go-round. I’m in the the former class.
And don’t EVEN think about applying the foregoing trait to other things in life as we know it. Music is music, life is quite another can o’ worms. 🙂
- bpenni | 08/16/2009 @ 11:45I’d do him on a straight tequila night if he would just shut the f*** up. He’s pretty hot when his mouth isn’t moving.
