Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Didn’t Luke Skywalker used to shoot those back on Tatooine?
About the size of a Death Star exhaust vent.
- philmon | 03/08/2010 @ 08:54Well I want to shoot it…the rodent too.
- tim | 03/08/2010 @ 10:08Truly a Rodent of Unusual Size.
- vvp39 | 03/08/2010 @ 12:35There is this wonderful program called Photoshop. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?
- cylarz | 03/09/2010 @ 04:33cylarz,
Wikipedia, perhaps you’ve heard of it 😉

Man, I can’t even accuse you of being stoned…:)
- tim | 03/09/2010 @ 11:02All right, all right. So the thing really is that big. Still looks like an overgrown hamster.
According to the article, its meat is edible. That makes sense, since I saw an episode of Bizarre Foods on Travel Channel, that depicted some creature similar to this (though more hamster-sized) being raised for food in Ecuador. Naturally, host Andrew Zimmern had one BBQ’d right up and even ate the brains right out of the skull.
It’s amazing how many things found on this world that the human body is apparently able to consume, once it has become accustomed.
- cylarz | 03/09/2010 @ 11:13Wonder what it tastes like. I’m trying to envision (taste-bud-wise) something kinda like rabbit and kinda like pork, since it’s kinda boar-hog-lookin’. I really can’t think what that might be.
- mkfreeberg | 03/09/2010 @ 11:21I really have no idea what the answer to this question is, but is there any mamal whose meat is not edible? As in, it won’t kill you and is nutritious?
I’ve personally eaten squirrel (nothing to write home about. Tough. Not terrible — but don’t mix it with tomato sauce … bleah!). It’s good to know if you’re starving … just sayin’
Rabbit … another rodent, is typically much less tough and more mild flavor. Hossenfeffer is quite tasty — basically rabbit sauerbraten. But there’s some nutritional disease you can get if you tried to subsist on rabbit alone for long … something to do with the lack of fat or something.
I saw Zimmern eat that thing. I’ve seen him eat a lotta things, many of which would have to wait for a very, very rainy day for me to eat.
- philmon | 03/09/2010 @ 11:42I’m just going to take a wild guess that mule would be a more acquired taste than most.
- mkfreeberg | 03/09/2010 @ 11:52Yeaaah, I’m not gonna volunteer for research on that. 🙂
- philmon | 03/09/2010 @ 11:54That was a guinea pig Morgan, I saw that episode.
Samantha Brown did it too, well, she bit into it, didn’t eat it.
