Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
It’s only obvious what the old boy is trying to set up…
Guys on the radio are betting by the end of the day, he’s got to eat his words.
I’d take that bet. democrats have no history. Their scandals bother them a little bit for a day or two; they don’t take ’em down.
And Carter will never do anything to give us a better cause to stop taking him seriously, than his one term as our President. Anyone who can forget that can forget anything.

Boy???!!! You called him boy????!!! Racist!
Only racists use the term “boy”!
The only reason you called him that is because he’s from the south … “south”, mmm-hmmm, if you know what I mean … SLAVES were in the south, you know what I’m gettin’ at? We know what you really meant. Also, since he was protecting a black man, and he’s a Democrat, and as everybody knows our first Black president was also from the southern state of Arkansas … that means Carter is actually black, and YOU’RE a RAAAAAAAAA-CIST!*!!!!!!!!
RAAAAAAAAAAA-CIST!
😉
*Note: You always pronounce the “RAAAAAAA” part of “RAAAAAAAA-CIST” with a barely controlled throaty-yet-high-pitched screech. Just to make sure you read it right. And stretch those “A”‘s out good and long. With moral indignation. That’s the ticket.
- philmon | 09/16/2009 @ 12:23I am so sick of Carter. That stupid peanut farmer. He’s in his 80s now and still walking around putting in his 2 cents worth? Why can’t he just shut up?
He spent all those years with Habitat for Humanity and did some great work. But more recently, he’s returned to mouthing-off about politics, and criticizing leaders that are far more effective than he was as president.
He negotiated that worthless aid treaty with North Korea back in 94 – the one that bought them time to develop nuclear weapons, and spent all that time palling around with Yasser Arafat. Then he spent eight long years criticizing President Bush. I’m just tired of the guy. I remember thinking that I’d like to gag him and put him in a closet for the duration of the Bush presidency, but he’d be out by now and the guy is STILL spewing nonsense. I’m wondering – is this what Clinton is going to be 20 years from now? I’ve every reason to expect he will still be around by then, slamming either the current president OR his critics, depending on who is in office.
My question: Why is it you never hear this kind of nastiness of out, say, Bush 41?
- cylarz | 09/16/2009 @ 12:41It’s a little thing called “class”.
- philmon | 09/16/2009 @ 13:13Color me racist, Morgan.
Paint my southern ass as walking in the poisoned garden of ignorant hate and ancient platitudes. Discount my colored children and their multitudes of gradient hues, dismiss their lineage and my beloved ties to their to their heritage when I voice a white woman’s political dissent.
I have children, nieces, nephews of all colors. I’m having a serious problem with the current level of racist rhetoric.
- Daphne | 09/16/2009 @ 19:23A friend of mine used to lecture me that the whole “Habitat for Humanity” thing was an illustration for the whole of liberalism. Jimmuh could have given a speech–could have just rambled about the weather for an hour, and taken in fifty grand. With that money, he could have hired skilled craftsmen to build five houses. Instead, he’s out there, this old man, feebly swinging a hammer. One way gets a lot of high quality work done, the other makes you feel good. Carter is a waste of carbon.
- Jason | 09/16/2009 @ 20:45Oh wait! Carbon is black, isn’t it? Damn, I guess I’m a racist.
- Jason | 09/16/2009 @ 20:46Jason, I hadn’t even thought of it that way, but that is very astute. And you’ve brought up an important point about liberal politicians – the posturing, the feel-good-ism, the symbolism over substance (to steal a phrase from Limbaugh).
- cylarz | 09/16/2009 @ 22:30Well, no, Jason. Actually you are defending carbon by saying that Carter is a waste of it. I think I found a loophole for you. Maybe…..
But they (they being Progressives) are quite clever about language, so they might come up with something anyway.
Actually, I won’t go so far as to say he’s a waste of carbon (so now I suppose that makes me racist by the carbon standard). He’s just a waste of time.
- philmon | 09/17/2009 @ 05:44Take it back?
Naaah.
