Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
What a wussy list.

- Morenuancedthanyou | 08/25/2008 @ 13:42I was especially impressed by the inventor of the circular saw and the paper-bag making machine. That said, the sheer number of inventions by women is still going to look awfully low in comparison to the number of inventions by men.
So, basically, that leaves literally *everything* else as being invented by men.
50% of the population, .00001% of the technological innovation, and we’re supposed to pretend we’re equals in everything?
Why is it when you say a woman is better at verbal skills than a man, nobody bats an eye, but if you dare to mention that we’re, on average, better at math and science than they, on average, you’re hauled in front of a court, or fired, or publicly lambasted, or some combination thereof?
Don’t get me wrong – I love women, I love the contribution that they make to society. I’m just saying that if they were exactly equal to us, in every way, then one of the two groups (men or women) would be redundant. We NEED to be different. One group NEEDS to be better than the other at some things, while the other group is better at the rest of the stuff than the former. We evolved to be a complete set.
- muttley | 08/25/2008 @ 15:20I notice the most recent item on the list is Kevlar, in 1966. Wonderful invention, that, and it’s saved many lives, among other things. But I can’t help but feel something to the effect of “So? What have you done for me lately?” Coz that’s the nature of the world we live in, ain’t it? 😉
