Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Holy CRAP. We’re back to the clean-and-articulate thing again already?? What in the hell is it with these people?
Hat tip to Rick, who found this in just a few minutes last night.
I also must not be watching The Godfather right. I thought it was Carlo, the scumbag brother-in-law, who was garroted. I own it and watch it over and over, and I’m pretty sure.
Tessio, the smarter of the two Caporegimes, was dispatched offscreen in some unstated way (I figured it was gangland style with a bullet in the back of the head), for his treachery and betrayal. “The smart move will getcha killed”? I don’t recall that line. “Make him an offer he can’t refuse” was used a whole lot of times, always with a sinister undertone…maybe that’s the connection to the State of the Union Matthews was trying to make.
Chris Matthews: Rocking-chair-shirt-slobber-senile well before his time. A bigoted, rambling old man. What’s next, grandpa? Something about wearing a yellow onion from your belt because that was the style at the time?
Is this threesome we just saw, a window into the soul of the folks who are in charge right now?
God help us.

Well, obvioiusly Matthews is a racist for even bringing it up. Wait, no… Matthews is on The Right Side of History™. Scratch that.
Gawd, those three mugs on the same TV screen at the same time. Slobbering all over themselves over their love for Obama. Didja hafta, Morgan? 😉
- philmon | 01/28/2010 @ 10:11I should add … IT WAS NEVER AN ISSUE TO ME, CHRIS. Why is it to you?
- philmon | 01/28/2010 @ 13:25God bless our affirmative-action President.
- Jason | 01/28/2010 @ 20:52Over at the advice section of creators.com, you can find the writings of a man named Larry Elder, who gives advice and opinions to people who write in on the subject of racial issues. I really appreciate his responses, as they are very much like those of Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, or any other black conservative. His best piece, which he reprints each year, is entitled “My Wish for Black America.” Basically it’s a long list of things he wishes black people would do, and all of them are related to the theme of taking responsibility for their lives, instead of blaming other races for their problems or looking to government for the solutions.
Anyway, someone wrote to Elder, “I voted for the president because I thought he was the best person for the job.” In the comment section, I responded, “How about giving those of us who didn’t vote for him the same benefit of the doubt, then? Maybe our dislike of him is over policy matters and has nothing to do with race. When he won, I looked for the silver lining and said, “Maybe at least now we can finally put all this crap about race behind us for good. It should have been a dead issue from about 1970 on.” I was wrong.”
- cylarz | 01/28/2010 @ 22:27Oops. Larry MEEKS, not Larry Elder. Wrong black conservative.
- cylarz | 01/28/2010 @ 22:28There is Awesome.
There is even Be-Awesome.
This isn’t either one, but it’s a pretty good way to get a chuckle while you’re looking for the better stuff.
Lil’ O-Bama!
Starting a brand new miniseries at JBYP!
- Steve Elmore | 01/29/2010 @ 00:41That’s pretty good, cylarz. Larry Meeks, eh? Have to go check his stuff out.
Sowell’s one of my favorite thinkers. I’ve heard of Elder. Even read one of his books. And, of course, I think Walter Williams is even better known than Sowell.
