Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Just give me and my friends what we want.
That would be your tolerance and love of diversity right there.
National security is at stake, eh? Throwing weapons away not only helps our national security, but is vital to it?
This is why these people must be driven from power. Some guy walking around your neighborhood would just love to perforate you with a high-powered machine gun, people like Joe Biden figure if you just get rid of the gun everything will be okay. And they aren’t willing to discuss or debate it.

Foreign policy expert extraordinaire, crazy Uncle Joe. He’s been right about every important decision concerning national defense since he’s been in DC. Screw the facts, just ask him…after you get out’a the way.
So glad our enemies are not constructing any nuclear capabilities while we reduce ours. Oh well, at least we’re investing in missile defense systems…
Yup, Palin would have been a horrible VP. I mean, the people who knew that are vindicated by Obama’s…handleing …of…

Like the rest of you, I’m old enough to remember at least to the 80s, back when Reagan was holding all those summits and arms-reduction talks with then-Soviet Premier Gorbechev.
I seem to recall a treaty named SALT and another one named SALT II or something. I could and would look this stuff up, but I’m too lazy to do so.
My question. Did the Soviets comply with ANY of the arms-reduction treaties they signed with us back in the 70s and 80s? And if not, why would we expect that the modern Russian government would, either?
I do recall reading someplace that the number of tanks the Russians had deployed to Chechnya (in support of their invasion there) violated some Cold-War-Era treaty they’d signed with us, which regulated the strength of conventional weapons deployments in Europe. I don’t think the Russians were even called to account for this, much less punished in any way.
