Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
How come it is that libs never seem to directly respond to the concerns raised by their opposition?
Stephanie Cutter, representing the establishment left, calls voter fraud “a problem that doesn’t exist”. S. E. Cupp, representing the citizens who are concerned about the supposed non-problem, acknowledges there may be a legitimate concern about what Cutter is pointing out, the attempts to suppress votes. Only one side is willing to discuss the other side’s concerns.
Leftists are punch-drunk on this ultimate non-argument non-rejoinder non-response non-rebuttal for non-problems, this business of “You’re outside of my intended audience if you maintain an interest in that thing over there.” It’s stripped their threads; I think a lot of ’em simply don’t know any other way to do it. They don’t live in the land of ideas, they live in the land of Oz. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!
It’s cute how Wolfie tries to moderate every now & then.

We’re seeing a wonderful example of it in that Tom Sowell thread right now. The cuttlefish are an extreme example, but yeah, I agree wholeheartedly– they just don’t seem to know any other way to go about it.
It ties into a larger facet of liberal psychology, I think — the constant fear that any action they take, any statement they make, will be wrong. Which is the one thing liberalism exists to prevent. So they regulate, regulate, regulate and prevaricate, prevaricate, prevaricate. You can’t be held responsible if The System and / or Society doesn’t deliver the goods, just as you can’t ever lose a “debate” where only one side is actually arguing.
- Severian | 08/14/2013 @ 11:36Um…. vice versa IMHO, but missing the essential preemptory “projection” in the middle.
- CaptDMO | 08/15/2013 @ 06:50I was hoping that Cutter would have a seizure on air. The gagging, foaming, moaning and groaning would have all been more cogent rejoinders that her constant raised voice talking over of SE Cupp. Every single time SE tried to speak, Cutter talked over her, while SE respectfully let Cutter excrete her talking points. I’m used to it by now, but I’m long since past simply accepting it. In a sane world, the moderator would have butted in and told Cutter to pipe down while SE was talking.
- Physics Geek | 08/15/2013 @ 12:22Who doesn’t have an ID? Seriously, who? Besides illegal aliens, who? Is it possible for a citizen to go about their daily lives, minus the homeless, without an ID?
They don’t seem too “suppressed” when signing up for Obama phones, EBT cards, welfare, disability, SSI, etc. I’m assuming one needs some type of ID to receive that.
Strange, they needed to completely take over healthcare because @10% of the population didn’t have it, though most of them were either illegal immigrants, or could afford it/didn’t want it, etc. No hesitation to fix a problem that didn’t exist on that one.
Or force banks to loan to people who couldn’t pay them back. Completely made up situation they had no problem correcting.
I, legal gun owner, veteran, no criminal history, can’t legally have more than seven rounds in my pistol magazine, in NY, because some mentally ill kid in Connecticut killed some kids. Again, completely made up situation they had no problem correcting.
This is the perfect example why this country is doomed and beyond repair. If we can’t even agree on showing an ID to participate in the most sacred right we have, to vote, by providing the most basic thing, something that is required for any transaction, big and small, from getting a library card to buying liquor, from opening a bank account to getting on an airplane, etc., then we’re fucking done. Finished. Turn out the lights. Burn this mother down. Let’s start over.
S.E. Cupp should do some research, in the states with voter ID laws, blacks had higher turnout the last two presidential elections than whites. Good looking gal but not always the sharpest spoon in the drawer 😉
