Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
So noted leftist crackpot cartoonist Ted Rall was ranting away about our current President being clueles, and he kinda went off the deep end and made some disparaging remark about Obama’s intelligence — finding it inferior to Sarah Palin‘s. I thought nothing of it at the time. Looked to me like a classic case of a hardcore progressive type grasping-at-straws for the MOAB of insults to throw down.
And then HoundOfDoom said something that inspired me.
So now even uber-liberals admit that we would be better off with Palin.
Welcome aboard!
Took me awhile to figure out the brilliance of it. And then, like I got smacked in the forehead with a two-by-four — That’s It! Announcing…drum roll please…
The Blog That Nobody Reads Better Off With Her campaign. Yessiree. We’ve all been looking for that patch of “common ground” on which the righty-tightee and the lefty-loosies can agree. This is it. You’re looking at it right here.
Yes, it is true…people like me say those four words, we mean one thing — people like Ted Rall say them, they mean something else entirely. They’re trying, once again, to motivate people toward their side with vinegar instead of honey. They’re using the former Governor to help accentuate their insult. Because they’re so veeeeerrrrrryyyyy angry. He Who Was Supposed To End All Suffering has not made them into a happy crowd…not by a damn sight. You see it here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here. And dozens upon dozens upon dozens of other places.
So my new campaign is just a little bit sneaky. Just a little bit Obama-like…trying to be all things to all people. Not really quite so much resolving disputes, as papering them over.
What of it? Who freakin’ cares? We’re still agreeing on something aren’t we? Common ground. Middle-o-th’road. Reaching-across-the-aisle. That’s still supposed to be a good thing, is it not? And if we agree on it, it becomes important for the word to get out. Palin might not run. Again — who cares? The slogan still works. If she was running things…if. We’d be better off.
Besides…we would be a lot better off with her.
Take that in whatever way you will.

I got into an interesting conversation at work today.
My co-workers are all moderately to extremely liberal. (There is one other conservative who was not present today.) I had to sit through Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. It goes without saying that I cannot stand either of them. Neither is able to pick a side – either be a funnyman, or have a serious conversation about serious events. They just sit there and say ridiculous things…while pulling video clips from Fox News and playing them out-of-context.
Anyway, today I was treated to a generous helping of clips of Palin speaking. They played the part where she says, “This is about more than just a charismatic guy who can’t speak without the aid of a teleprompter” or something like that. Cue Stephen Colbert guffawing. (What exactly is so funny about that, I have no idea.) I also couldn’t help noticing that “comedy” figures in the media seem to spend a lot of time attacking someone who is a private citizen and does not hold any elected or appointed office.
One of my left-wing moonbat colleagues demanded to know if I was a Palin supporter. I said, “I sure am.” Then he demanded to know what I thought she was “going to do for me” if elected President or whatever. (I rolled my eyes, and thought that this is the trouble with left-wingers from the get-go: they think we elect leaders to “do stuff” for us…when my opinion is that I elect those who promise to stop doing things TO me.) I calmly answered that she will cut taxes and reduce the size and scope of government, just as she did while mayor of Wasilla and governor of AK. He asked, “So you think the government spends too much money?” I said yes. He said, “Oh, so that must mean you’re in favor of cutting military spending.” I said, “No, everything except that; about half the federal budget goes toward education and social programs.” He then went on a rant about how much money is being “wasted” by the military. I said, “I disagree.” End of conversation..
This guy routinely says things that are demonstrably false, ignorant, or factually untrue. Did I mention he did not even vote in the last election?
Another co-worker kept saying over and over “I hope she runs” presumably because he wants to see her humiliated. He has said before that he does not think she can be elected to any federal office because she is too “extreme.” I often feel like pointing out to him that millions of people disagree most profoundly, and in fact would feel the exact same way about HIS beloved Chairman Zero.
Freakin’ morons. I often feel like telling these guys to stick to the sandbox, and not pretend that they know anything about how the real world actually works.

Can you imagine how they would react when she wins her next office? Bugnuts crazy wouldn’t even begin to describe it. Stand back and enjoy the show.
