Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
He tweeted about this right after the show. Hadn’t seen it, though – thanks for sharing it!
I disagree somewhat with the characterization of what she was doing as stealing. The “stealing from the grocery store” analogy is a bit flawed, in that if I steal a loaf of bread, no one else can have it. Sharing an internet connection is less invidious, and doesn’t deprive the other person of their ability to use it, provided they’re not doing BitTorrents and such. And, running a wide-open network is the equivalent to playing your radio really loud with the windows open – you’re not going to get mad at someone on the street who heard your song.
Now, he’s dead-on on the security risks. 🙂
- Daniel | 03/01/2010 @ 07:53What amazes me most is the 1) entitlement mentality, as in…I’ve been doing it for a year and a half, so I should be able to do it for the next year and a half, all the rest of this talk is just a bunch of details that don’t concern me; and 2) the cluelessness. I guess you have television with rabbit-ears, you have radio, you have WiFi on your computer…it’s just another gizmo, you only have to worry about reception, not the transmission from whence it comes.
- mkfreeberg | 03/01/2010 @ 09:12I remember a rather acrimonious debate over at Mr du Toit’s web site over this very issue.
At the time, I thought that perhaps he was being a little harsh in his stance on the issue, but after listening to this…woman, I’ve realized that my opinion is now the same as his.
