Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
The 130th award for Best Sentence I’ve Heard Or Read Lately (BSIHORL) goes to Gavin McInnes, who is writing in Taki’s Magazine under the title “10 Things I Hate That Everybody Loves” (hat tip to Gerard Van der Leun).
This just says it all:
…I feel the same way about television that prostitutes feel about sex.
Nothing to add. Nothing whatsoever.
Well…there is the matter that the prostitutes are supposed to be paid.

I love lists like this! As a PC and Android guy, I would be tempted to add Apple products but they don’t quite fit. Over the years I would have put in cowboy clothes and western dancing after Urban Cowboy. Or, today, the Prius-mindset.
- BillW. | 09/30/2012 @ 15:38I ‘m sorry Morgan, but the guy’s a PUTZ. The ONLY two valid things on his list are tats and silicone tits. His rant against mainstream teevee is good, but he ignores the decent stuff that’s available. I don’t think I’d wanna party with Gavin.
- bpenni | 10/01/2012 @ 11:08Nevertheless, the one sentence is a winner. I approve of the rhythm, the artistic use of metaphor, the metaphor itself, and the sentiment communicated. Not vouching for anything outside of that.
- mkfreeberg | 10/01/2012 @ 11:13For once I’m gonna have to agree with Buck. What a fucking nitwit.
I read some of Gavin’s other articles and this one was particularly disgusting:

Wrong on every last one of them, frankly.

Point taken, in that “even a stopped clock is right twice a day” sorta way. Does this mean we can expect BSIHORLs from Obama in the near future? He’s a putz, true, but the man can string some words together… and sometimes quite nicely.
@cylarz: Well, thank ya, sir.
- bpenni | 10/02/2012 @ 11:43Well, if He merits. But this is unlikely, since the man communicates in cliches, some of which are quite well-worn and tedious. Also, the BSIHORL is often awarded with a nod to the sentiment being communicated, and His tend to be overly fixated on “these people over here have been gettin’ away with shenanigans, and all our problems are gonna go away as soon as we get even with ’em” which is not an idea that holds a lot of appeal to me.
- mkfreeberg | 10/02/2012 @ 11:47Agree with most of it, if only superficially. I smoke cigars that I don’t really enjoy, but that’s because I used to smoke cigarettes – and loved it – and a cigar is the best way to get that fix a few times a year without getting hooked on smoking again. But true to his rant, I spend the next day and half scrubbing the taste of burnt cat fur out of my mouth and wishing I had never smoked it.
Call me a curmudgeon, but I’m in complete agreement with the live music thing. A little mood music from a three-piece in the corner is cool, but I’ve tried to go to shows a few times here in my 30’s, and I just stand there wondering what to do with myself. Bob your head up and down, Andy, that’s what you paid 17 bucks for.
Cookies? COOKIES? Dude, please.
