Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
…and LastDay is coming for us, here in the City of Domes. Soon we will participate in Carousel, and reach Sanctuary. If you try to run, the Sandmen will come for you and then you will not find Sanctuary.
The fact that such a controversial change was kept quiet for so long, and that the Obama administration took steps to keep it quiet, is most troublesome of all.
What are we talking about? The End-Of-Life counseling that was part of ObamaCare…then a certain hick from Wasilla told us about “death panels,” and the liberals and lefties and grown-up-hippies and pseudo-intellectual snots started chuckling derisively about her false statements. Then someone realized there was nothing false about them whatsoever, so they took a few minutes to scrub the death panels from the bill and returned to their derisive chuckling.
Now the death panels are back. You have just been manipulated through a process of diversion…Runner.
When a proposal to encourage end-of-life planning touched off a political storm over “death panels,” Democrats dropped it from legislation to overhaul the health care system. But the Obama administration will achieve the same goal by regulation, starting Jan. 1.
Under the new policy, outlined in a Medicare regulation, the government will pay doctors who advise patients on options for end-of-life care, which may include advance directives to forgo aggressive life-sustaining treatment.
Congressional supporters of the new policy, though pleased, have kept quiet. They fear provoking another furor like the one in 2009 when Republicans seized on the idea of end-of-life counseling to argue that the Democrats’ bill would allow the government to cut off care for the critically ill.
The word “democrat” is supposed to come from the Greek word for “people”; the idea is that they are supposed to promote a democracy, in which the “people” have a more direct say in what our government will do.
How come they’re always working so hard to fool and manipulate the people?

Bad that Obama kept it quiet.
Even worse that partisans explicitly said “Don’t spread this email, because, you know, it could get out…”
- Robert Arvanitis | 12/26/2010 @ 14:39So I guess maybe that that stupid little snowbilly had some idea what she was talking about. Of course, it’s still the lie of the year- or some such nonsense- simply because Palin mentioned it.
- Physics Geek | 12/26/2010 @ 19:28I’m not sure I understand Robert Arvanitis’ point. Obama should have been open about it? He couldn’t do that. When the Socialist/Marxist/Progressive/Statists are ever honest about their agenda to become the masters of the unwashed masses, those masses rebel once they understand what is about to happen to them.
Which is why the second sentence in his comment explains his actions. The Left can never be honest about what they intend to do to those who believe in and strive for individual liberty.
Oh sure, the drones continue to believe that the majority of the populace wants socialized this and that, and thus, if you just keep explaining and getting the message out, the masses will one day wake up and say, “Oh yes, I’ll have some of that, please.” As if we can’t look around and see the results in Cuba, Venezuela, England, North Korea, etc.
I would have to take the opposite view of Robert. We should be glad that Obama is making it obvious that those who seek to be our masters are making themselves obvious. I’m glad that I have such things to point to for those who would otherwise be ignorant and say, “See, this isn’t about doing what’s best for you, it’s about bringing about a socialist utopia that benefits the ruling elite. They are trying to con you.”
