Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Me:
This is the saddest part of modern day liberalism, IMO. It’s the part that compels otherwise-decent and otherwise-thoughtful people to reject simple, straightforward, wise courses of action, and accept simple, crooked, fraudulent, stupid ones. They get distracted by the question of who else is decent. And choosing just the right double standard to make Bill-n-Hillary look like saints, and cast such a contemptuous darklight on Levi-Bristol that hopefully some of it bounces up and hits Sarah Palin, consumes all the brain cycles they have. Like, somehow Hillary’s a “victim,” Bill was “tempted,” Bristol is just a shitty judge of character and surely she got that from her Mom…
By the time they’re done writhing around and jumping through their own intellectual hoops, they’re so exhausted you could tell them we’ll fix the nation’s economy with a trillion dollar health care plan, and get rid of our racial-tension for good by drinking beer.
What am I talking about?
Daphne’s liberal friend had some kind of point to make. I’m doubting the liberal friend, herself, would be able to explain what exactly the point is…but Daphne noticed Mr. Johnston is not keeping current with his child support obligations.
One way or another, it all reflects on the former Governor, and therefore anyone & anything that doesn’t agree with Obama. Or something.

This reminds of the debate I had with some dope over at Cassy’s place about a year ago, or whenever it was that the story about Levi Johnston breaking up with Bristol and appearing in Playgirl, first broke. (The worst of it was that this chap apparently fancies himself some kind of conservative.)
He insisted that Sarah Palin was now “damaged goods” simply because she didn’t reach for the nearest microphone and immediately start saying nasty things in public about Johnston. “Oh,” the poster rambled, “Palin is forever tainted by her association with this classless jerk.”
Whatever, I said. The Palin-bashers hated her already, and her fans won’t see the Johnston story as any kind of reflection on Palin’s character or judgment. A lot of people in the middle won’t have even heard the story, or will have forgotten about it by the time she gets around to running for anything – assuming she ever does. I took the guy to the woodshed over his comments. It was the most inane bunch of prattle I’d read anywhere on the Net anytime that week.
The way I see it, if you consider yourself a conservative but still think – for whatever reason – that Palin has no place running anything or being the GOP standard bearer, fine. That’s a valid position. But don’t hide your disgust with her behind a bunch of crap about Levi Johnston and Palin’s supposed guilt by association with the guy.
