Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Cartoons that give you practical advice on living your life, that is.
Know when you’re licked…accept it with poise, grace, dignity and maybe just one last bitch-slap out of you, if that’s called-fer…
And — more importantly than that — know when you’re not.
Never let the bastards get you down. Non illegitimi carborundum.

That first picture tells just the opposite story:
- Robert Arvanitis | 12/12/2009 @ 14:00By the ears, the defiant loser must be Obama.
The mightly eagle is the American people, rising up to end the gnawing away of liberty.
Non illegitimi carborundum.
- Pixelkiller | 12/12/2009 @ 18:28My old Latin teacher of 60 years ago would say that was “Dog Latin”.
His translations would be:
#1, Noli Nothis Permittere Te Terere
#2, Spurii Vos Haud Contendendum
…..just saying.
(In Latin there is always more than one way to coin a phrase).
Yup – and although it has been variously attributed, I believe the frognstork cartoon to be the work of Ev Cheney, a colleague of mine at Southern Pacific in the ’80s, where I first saw it in his office.
Never, never, never give up!
- rob | 12/13/2009 @ 10:50…but know when you’re licked, and hold on to your dignity.
It’s a tough, delicate balance. You have to work on it cradle to grave or you might as well not work on it at all.

I’d like to think so too, but it could just as easily be interpreted as stalwart conservatives trying to stand firm against the inevitable erosion of their rights. Course, maybe that sentiment is better expressed in the 2nd cartoon.
