Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
And I’m going to embed this first one because it’s been in my stack of “Click for a quick smile” videos for…since it came out, whenever that was. Great stuff.
Hat tip to Linkiest.
This Sarah Palin fan finds himself outnumbered, according to appearances, by the Palin haters…although it’s difficult to tell. They’re so loud because they’re so desperate, and they’re desperate because she’s effective. Well, I think I found the perfect response to them and it’s just two words: Paula Abdul.
On any planet where Paula is allowed somewhere near a teevee camera, Palin is perfectly qualified to be not only President, but Supreme Court Chief Justice, Nobel Laureate, Chair of the Board of Microsoft, Chief Architect of the next major release of the Linux operating system, and inventor of some kind of new form of space travel.

That’s hilarious. I wonder how many viewers saw that and what the fallout was afterward. The guy with the mike in the hallway – I’d like to ask him, “Why didn’t you just wander over to the girl and say to her, ‘Do you have any reaction?'”
What does any of it have to do with Palin, though? You lost me.
- cylarz | 04/29/2010 @ 01:36I’m taking a nasty swipe at Paula Abdul. Along with anyone who wants to get smarmy and indignant about Palin’s supposed “incompetence” but suddenly turn all skewed and selective about all the real rampant incompetence we have out there. Paula Abdul, Joe Biden, et cetera.
See, just pay attention to Paula Abdul for awhile. She’s gorgeous but she has NO business being on teevee. It’s kinda sad.
- mkfreeberg | 04/29/2010 @ 04:44Wow. Was Paula drunk?
She was slurring and barely coherent.
- philmon | 04/29/2010 @ 12:57It seems lately she’s like that every time I see her on something. Which isn’t often. But when it’s 100% of the time, from what’s available to you, you just have to conclude certain things.
That’s how it fastens into the Palin thing. The problem isn’t that we can’t find competence, it’s that we’re in a process of forgetting what it looks like.
- mkfreeberg | 04/29/2010 @ 13:05I kind of feel bad for Paula, as she appears to have some physical issues that have led to some, er, ‘self medication’.
That being said, the producers, handlers, what have you, that let her get on mass media when she is obviously compromised should be fired, and she needs to work with, and respect people that will tell her NO when that’s what needs to be said. I hope Paula realizes that one day. She actually seems like a good hearted person.
The compare and contrast with Palin doesn’t hold for me, because Paula is irrelevant, and Sarah is not. I will give you that Paula can be falling down stoned on screen and it’s laughed off. If Sarah did that? Man, I don’t want to even think about how that would play out. I’d have to stay off the internet for MONTHS.
Like you said in a later post, Palin-hatred seems to derive, in part, from the realization of 0bama voters that they’ve been had, and more importantly, that everyone knows it. So now, rather than taking the hit, and moving past it, they’re doubling down, again, and again, to keep from admitting their mistake. Real, real, sad.
