Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Seems both sides agree the prosecution did a far better job.
I think I know why: They care about the outcome just about as much as I do, which is hardly at all. I’ve yet to see it mentioned that Trump’s interested in running for President again and pulling a Grover Cleveland, if the option is available to him.
As far as legacy, it’s: Congress impeached him twice but failed to convict both times, versus Congress impeached him twice and ultimately convicted him. Either way, history shows Trump proved we don’t need our political class, and our political class was so childish about being shown up that they couldn’t handle it.
I fail to see how the Senate is deciding anything of any importance here.

Ah but the Senate IS accomplishing something of great importance to the Democrat party. They are putting on a dog-and-pony show for their acolytes in the shithole hives. Which is EXACTLY what they are “elected” to do.
- MarkMatis | 02/10/2021 @ 05:33It’s two steps forward and three steps back. They’re showing off for “snapshot people” who don’t comprehend or appreciate the concept of time.
When historians are liberals, they mutilate the bits of history they can mutilate to make their side look noble and good, and where they can’t pull that off they simply paper over it. This is going to be the latter, because the takeaway is going to be the thing I said about the political class.
And before that becomes history, I predict there are going to be more events that have to be memory-holed. We are, after all, the bosses of the people Trump proved to be useless…
- mkfreeberg | 02/10/2021 @ 06:17I’m not watching it, but as a historian I feel kinda bad about not watching it, because the Dems are quite possibly in the middle of scoring the biggest own-goal in the history of the human race.
Let’s say that the majority of the country, including a significant fraction of Democrats, thinks that the 2020 election had some… irregularities, let’s say. Which raises some serious questions about Biden’s legitimacy in office.
This is supposed to help with that?
“Impeaching” a guy who is no longer an officeholder is an oxymoron. It’s absurd on its face. But they’re doing it. And then they make it somehow even MORE nakedly partisan, by holding a vote on its constitutionality which breaks exactly down party lines… and this after the Supreme Court — who should know what’s constitutional if anyone does — decides to take a pass on participating, specifically saying it’s unconstitutional. So the presiding magistrate at the “trial” is a sitting US Senator, from the other party, who is presumably also going to be able to vote on the verdict.
Then they enter into evidence the fate of this Brian Sicknick guy. Said evidence comes from the New York Times, but, as lots of folks have pointed out, the Times piece was naked assertion, and laughably wrong. Combine this with the obvious photoshop the FBI — the FBI!! — entered into evidence, and you have the whole thing centered on mind-boggling incompetence. A junior high debate squad could stage a better show trial than this.
And then there’s the final fact that, to convict, they’re going to need to get 67 votes. 45 Republicans have already gone on record with their belief that this unconstitutional farce is, in fact, unconstitutional. Assuming the 55 who voted for the farce also vote to convict, 67-55 means they’ll need to get 12 of the 45 who are already on record saying this joke is unconstitutional to reverse themselves, and vote to convict in a trial they’ve already admitted is illegal. That’s a tough sell.
But either way it works out, the conclusion is clear — the Biden regime is totally illegitimate, because our political class can’t even pretend to play by the rules anymore. If they actually manage to convict, a bunch of Senators have bribed or threatened other Senators into going along with an illegal proceeding. If they don’t manage to convict, then they’ve bent, broken, spindled, folded, and mutilated every possible rule in order to win, and still failed.
The Bidenreich is either a clique of lawless thugs, or a clique of incompetent lawless thugs, take your pick. If they were actually trying to shred Joe Normie’s last vestige of respect for the nation formerly known as America, I’m not sure what they’d be doing differently. But they don’t care, because what we think doesn’t matter. Like Z Man said today, this is all a show one part of the apparat is putting on for another part of the apparat. Like a high school musical, the audience will love it… but that’s because the audience is related by blood to the performers. The rest of us will just be baffled and embarrassed.
