Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Oh…my…dear…fucking…God.
I’m just gonna — you know what? That’s it. I can’t think of anything to say. Nothing to add.
After umptyfratz decades nobody can figure out why there’s still any racial tension. But they know I have to pay for the problem and the solutions…they know that much. Just can’t figure out why it still lingers on.
Enema with crushed glass is too good for ’em. Fucking assholes.
Hat tip to News Real Blog, via Gerard.
Update: Jammie Wearing Fool figured out what to say about it (hat tip to Michelle):
Could you imagine the media meltdown if Fox did something so stupid?
Yup. Whoomp there it is.

This is my problem with “Black History Month.”
It’s devoted to coming up with the names of all these “African American” people who have made important contributions to American history. Naming all these figures (and directing schoolchildren to write papers about them) seems designed to reinforce the point that yes, black people are capable of making important contributions to American history.
My question is, “Well…who said they couldn’t? Who exactly is out there claiming that black people aren’t capable of big, important things? Who is saying that?” What is the media/entertainment/education industrial complex trying to prove? Who are they trying to convince?
I’m not faulting ordinary blacks for this, mind you…just the leaders of their “community.” (Well, I was willing to let the lay-people off the hook anyway, until I found out that 93% of them voted for Obama, pretty much proving beyond any doubt who the racists in American society really are.)
I see “Black History Month” as a classic example of answering the question nobody is asking. Attacking the target that does not exist. And for that matter, why don’t other minorities have their special month? Blacks are no longer even the biggest minority in the USA.

There are no words adequate to describe the complete clusterf*ck of “logic”.

A lot of us had something to say about this thanks to Gerard:

I once opined that parody would no longer be possible after the Hope Homeboy played his saxophone on EmptyV. I was wrong, apparently.
