Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
…inspired by, and manifested by, irresponsible class warfare rhetoric. Dangerous, deadly progressive rage.
Clay Duke, the man who opened fire on a Florida school board Tuesday, posted a “last testament” on Facebook decrying the wealthy and linking to a slew of progressive sites including theprogressivemind.info and MediaMatters.org.
The chilling Facebook statement, posted under the “About Clay” section, talks about being born poor and how the rich “take turns fleecing us”:
My Testament: Some people (the government sponsored media) will say I was evil, a monster … no… I was just born poor in a country where the Wealthy manipulate, use, abuse, and economically enslave 95% of the population. Rich Republicans, Rich Democrats… same-same… rich… they take turns fleecing us… our few dollars… pyramiding the wealth for themselves. The 95%… the us, in US of A, are the neo slaves of the Global South. Our Masters, the Wealthy, do, as they like to us…
Doug Powers notes:
Meanwhile, as Media Matters is still busy trumpeting how dangerous Glenn Beck’s “violent rhetoric” is, there’s not a mention on their site of the media that Clay Duke considered worthy of following. Some media just don’t matter when it comes to these things.
Just wow. As one who could be considered a highly-compensated professional in the private sector, I wonder what my government is going to do to protect me from these gun-wielding, wild-eyed progressive cranks. Maybe we needs us some more regulation to put a check on their freedoms, and the irresponsible, inflammatory rhetoric that inspires them to act.

I’m thinking about posting on this as well. Let’s take a closer look at the first sentence of Mr. Duke’s “Testament.” “government sponsored media”
What? What government sponsored media? NPR? Does anyone with a modicum of sense think that NPR is going to identify Clay’s motivations and declare them to be evil?
I don’t think so, Tim.

“government-sponsored media” is what people who rant about “the Wealthy” call any and all news outlets that aren’t Democratic Underground or the Daily Worker. CNN = Fox= MSNBC = The Wall Street Journal to these folks, since it’s not all “America suxxxxx!!!!” 24/7/365. Such is the famed liberal “nuance,” which sees absolutely no connection between Marxism and the gulag, yet can’t tell Fox apart from the Washington Post.
There are really only three “crazy school shooter” narratives:
— if he’s got a name like Abdul Achmed Hussein Muhammad and opens fire shouting “Allahu Akbar!,” he’s an isolated extremist — a member of Mark Steyn’s Amalgamated Union of Isolated Extremists local 242 — and his actions have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam.
— if he has any openly expressed political views to the right of Keith Olbermann, or has ever complained about his taxes, or has ever told an off-color joke, or has ever watched NASCAR, or has ever eaten at Arby’s, he’s an example of right-wing hate, and we should burn Glenn Beck in effigy just in case. Oh, and of course Sarah Palin is stupid.
— if he has openly avowed leftist views, up to and including bizarre screeds about “the Wealthy” and the need for global communist revolution, he’s an example of why we need more social spending and gun control. His family, workplace, associates, etc. will never be mentioned — like Agents in The Matrix, guys like this appear out of nowhere, do completely random things, and vanish without a trace. Only vastly increased social programs, from Head Start to diversity training, can ever protect us.
