Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Josh Painter brings us news that Sarah Palin has apparently bludgeoned the Obama administration into a more commonsense position — once again. Gateway Pundit agrees.
For the last decade plus, I notice the democrat party has been repeatedly trounced by people they have declared to be morons. Not just Palin. What’s-his-name too. The Crawford guy. Except he had to have an official title of some kind in order to beat ’em at their own game over and over. Palin, on the other hand, is just a private citizen.
Update: Under one of my posts at Right Wing News, interested commentator AF_Vet backs well-known left-wing gadfly D_Vega up against the wall over this latest event and wants to know what Vega has to say about it…Vega having gone on the record repeatedly to say Palin doesn’t know what she’s talking about. (Apparently not having bothered to acquaint himself with what exactly it was Palin was saying.)
AF_Vet says “This oughta be good.” We agree. We are watching carefully along with him.
Update 4/12/10: Aaaaaannnnnnndddddd….drum roll please. It’s the “As I’ve/He’s Said All Along Back To Day One” defense. There’s no change to the policy you’re only imagining it because you’re so stoooopid.
Anyone else shocked to see that one coming?
Okay, I want to see a virtual show-of-hands. Is there anyone here sympathetic to Barry’s position, or who knows somebody who is…who, as of Friday after the policy had been first announced, honestly down to the marrow of their bones interpreted it to mean “if we can prove that a biological attack originated in a country that attacked us, then all bets are off.”
I guess being a lefty means never having to tell the truth about your initial perceptions of things, or your heroes’ initial intent behind their things. History always began this morning when your Mom made you wake up.

I’m sick of that idiot Vega, frankly. He has to pop in and mouth off on nearly every thread. The guy has just about ruined RWN for me completely. It’s one of the reasons I don’t go over there much anymore.
Still and all, I’m going to check out the link. Watching that moron get his ass handed to him just makes my day.

It’s been said that the onset of maturity coincides with the insight that not everybody has your best interests at heart. The current discovery by normal people that (gasp!) “liberals” lie without compunction falls into that category.

What am I supposed to do – drop by RWN every day just to argue with Vega? Yeah, that’s worked out so well for the regulars on that site. Seesh Morgan…if I let THAT be my governing philosophy, I’d never get anything else done. If I were John Hawkins (the blog owner), I’d just ban him, even if he hasn’t violated any of the terms of use. When asked why, I would respond, “Because I’m not here to provide yet another forum for socialists to air their putrid views. There are already plenty of other places on the Internet where they can do that, without stealing my bandwidth and annoying people that are here to read my blog posts.” If accused of wanting to run an echo chamber, I’d just shrug and tell the complainer to get lost.
I discovered that blog one day in mid-2007 and posted quite often for the first few months. I wasn’t getting anywhere with him and neither were the others who frequently engage him – mightysamurai, cavalierx, and others.
I can’t stand him, as I said. His smugness, pomposity, and arrogance annoy the crap out of me, on top of the actual wrongheaded-ness of what he says. I don’t think I’ve ever run across a more ardent defender of gay marriage or other socialist ideas that I oppose. The worst part is that the guy doesn’t come across as a sputtering, incoherent loon, but rather someone who is flat-out determined to run in the wrong direction.
It’s much the same with a couple of liberal posters over at one of my other favorite blogs, moonbattery.com. Lao, Andy, and one or two others. Like Vega, they’re not just wrong but so full-of-it and so determined to get their point across, that I wonder about a theory I heard once. Namely, that while it’s possible these people are mentally unstable or simply get a big kick out of intentionally annoying others, it’s also possible that they’re actually on the payroll of some left-wing advocacy group like MoveOn. Some of these organizations think they’ve got something to gain by paying people to troll conservative websites and disrupt the flow of ideas.
Which is exactly what D-Vega usually does. He hijacks the discussion and gets everyone to respond to him. I wish people would either ignore the guy or deliver a smackdown strong enough to embarrass him off the board, but neither ever seems to happen.
Still, I think I’ll steal that line that you used. The next time I run across someone who disagrees with me (and has to have an attitude about it, to boot) I’ll calmly reply, “I am not here to post content that would appeal to you.”
