Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
…because the left brain is for figuring out puzzles, and everywhere we turn there’s puzzle pieces being brought to us by people we know damn good and well are lying to us.
I think Daphne’s got the right idea. She’s going with a techno version of Bach’s Fugue…which I can tolerate during the few seconds before it goes techno.
I see your Bach, and I raise you a Bruch. From an eight-year-old.
I’m gonna go get another beer.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. And it’s all small stuff. We-ell…not really…but you can’t do much about it tonight.

Now see, I can handle that kind of techno. I thought it was pretty cool. And I swear it wasn’t just because a pretty girl was playing it!
Plus I’m cranky about the second one because I hate that an 8 year old is far better at playing an instrument than I am playing mine after 9 years… or will probably ever be at it.
Ok, I don’t hate it. But it makes me momentarily hang my head in shame before I remember how much fun I have doing it.
You go little girl. And Vanessa Mae can play all the techno she wants. Bach rocks!

Point of order, maestro. This is up-tempo, to be sure, but it is NOT “techno.” There are no synthesizers, no drum machines, and no annoying lil twits posing during the performance. Just the Berlin Philharmonic and a most accomplished soloist. And, FWIW, Angel is second only to Deutsche Grammophone as the preeminent classical label.
Resident pedant, out.
- bpenni | 06/18/2010 @ 20:18Speaking of that, I hear tell Devo has a new album out.
Not that I’ll be rushing out to get it.
