Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Hmmmm…interesting question to ponder.

Smells a little “false flaggy” to me….
- Dathi | 03/02/2013 @ 12:391. The text was clearly not composed by “a concerned neighbor”.
2. It’s anonymous, therefore it doesn’t exist.
3. Even if it DID exist, it’s CLEAR “code-speak” for “Please double down, and
begin the NRA approved practical firearms education program for kids at the local firing range. (I think I got up to “Marksman” at summer camp in NH)
It’s for the children.
What is it with those (pre Fascist fire-sale… to the Italians?) Jeeps and NRA Life Members? (heh heh)
- CaptDMO | 03/02/2013 @ 13:35Bogus. Written by a pro-gunner for the easily fooled.
- vanderleun | 03/02/2013 @ 13:43I dunno. There ARE some religious leftists out there…their version of Christ came to us two thousand years ago to teach us to go with the flow and stop being individuals. They are a strange, strange breed and I wouldn’t put anything past ’em. And I think they’d use a font like this.
Can’t stake too big of a wager on it one way or the other, pro or con. Just an interesting thinking exercise, that’s all I see here.
- mkfreeberg | 03/02/2013 @ 15:29A “pro-gunner’, addressed specifically to an NRA life member, with an American made Jeep.
Trying to “fool” such a person into “rethinking” um…what, exactly?
I wonder where the “jurno-list” style script-complete with “(plug in targets vehicle make/model here)” and suggested font, comes from?
Might have well had said Big Poopy Head, or (fill in the blank here)-phobic, or -ist, instead of Redneck hill billy nut.
While I do think such a “missive” is suitable for framing for amusement, without further response, perhaps a “coexist”, or “Mensa” owl (ISPE?) sticker would be an appropriate partner for the NRA sticker, if one were so inclined. (Personally, I don’t do bumper sticker campaigns on my cars)
In any case, perhaps a casual heads-up chat with your local P.D. is in order? b
- CaptDMO | 03/05/2013 @ 07:09I think mkf is right — the font is believable.
- Texan99 | 03/05/2013 @ 09:13Dear Caring Neighbor:
For the sake of you and your children, I will keep my guns. I will show you and your children how to use them safely and to respect their power. And should you, God forbid, ever cry out in the night when the wicked come to destroy and rob, I and my guns will come to your aid… for the wicked do not respect God or any of His people, and you can’t write them a letter voicing your displeasure and expect them to meekly submit to your wishes.
You’re welcome,
Me

- nightfly | 03/05/2013 @ 11:12I have a neighbor, two doors down, who had the only political yard sign within twenty blocks on either side, during this last, past election.
It had the obama thingy.
It occured to me, that it should be easy to go, door-to-door, with a campaign to ask for gun law change. With a lawn sign that states, “This is a gun free home. Reduce violence. Outlaw guns.”
Put up, or shut up, as it were.
If you had to advertise that you have no guns, would you want to be without guns?
Herd immunity.
NRA.
