Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...

Lame. Any man that doesn’t understand the examples/illustrations given deserves a stiletto clad foot up his a$$. But I suppose this WOULD be helpful for the geek community.
Get off my lawn! (There, Phil. ;-))
- bpenni | 12/17/2010 @ 12:47I think in real life, when these errors in communication take place you’re going to find the female side of the dialogue had a tone & inflection a bit more subtle than the actresses shown here. Also, the fella would tend to be a tad greener…I’m thinking of the couples where they get hitched before they’re old enough to order a glass of beer. Given that, I find it hard to lay down a blanket pile of scorn upon the clueless studs…like…this guy…

See, this is another reason to bring back stocks. It is an act of mercy, among other things. If we had stocks in the public square, the clueless dorks who misunderstand their women can be hit with rotten cabbages for three hours in the space of an afternoon…as opposed to enduring seven years of crappy credit, two decades of child support and the subsistence-level living that goes with it, and losing all their assets & having to start over again. People like you can still act all righteous and call it a sin to misunderstand your wife-or-girlfriend, even innocently…the lady who intones the exact opposite of what she means still gets to play the victim…and the punishment fits the crime. Win-win-win.
- mkfreeberg | 12/17/2010 @ 13:05The video is lame, Morgan. We both know it. Poor acting, lousy examples, stoopid premise. There’s not a hetero-normative male alive that hasn’t uttered “But… but… what did I DO?” at one point in his life, we all get this. But the video? Lame.
People like you…
Heh. OK. Being the model-spokesperson for the twice-divorced, child-support-payin’-into–my-70s, ever-so-slightly misogynistic, beer drinkin’, cigar smokin’, mo’sickle-ridin’, fiscally conservative, socially liberal, trailer-park-livin’, Palin-bashin’, Social Security-drawin’, double-dippin’, curmudgeonly, elderly white guy demographic is an awesome responsibility, but I’ll take it on. It’s the least people like me can do. 😉
- bpenni | 12/18/2010 @ 15:29[…] We think of things that are fake but accurate to be more meritorious, more worthy of our attention, our consideration, our support, our indemnification, than other things that are truthful, although perhaps somewhat lame. […]
