Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...

Ohhh that looks like a cat fight without the clawing I just read between two blogger chicks today… low blows while apologizing profusely to each other.
Nice.
But if you’re gonna kick someone in the nonads… no white flags. Go in for the kill. Make it clean. Don’t be a pussy waving a white flag.

- KC | 01/17/2010 @ 11:30I agree; words cannot adequately express how much.
I’ve learned through the years I have a special weakness for these people. If an enemy is willing to admit he’s my enemy, and it’s on, I win and win and win, and when I look back on it years later I’m so proud of the hell I was able to lay down on that battle field. I’m Braveheart, baby.
But when enemies pretend to be my friend, it just makes me nauseous. If I see right through it in the instant it’s happening, it doesn’t change a thing. I get almost physically ill, it’s like Kryptonite to Superman. Maybe it’s just the old-fashioned man in me. Protocols from conflicts in centuries gone by, more elegant ages. Once I’m confronted by a wolf wearing a sheep costume, even a bad sheep costume, it seems there’s nothing I can do to handle the situation right, and I’m never happy with myself later on when I look back on the things I did. And, in the moment, I can’t even bring myself to care.
These are vile, disgusting people.
- mkfreeberg | 01/17/2010 @ 11:44[…] WELL YOU STUPIDER… I HATE YOU… WELL YOU UGLY… crap) … I found this from here who got it from here and it couldn’t have been any more apropos. Learn how to fight […]
- Cyber Chick Fights « Compare / Contrast | 01/17/2010 @ 11:47This whole fucking thing nearly broke my heart, since I consider both participants my friends and have a semi-vested interest in the piss-up, seeing as how I have at least part ownership in kicking the whole thing off. It’s almost enough to make me think “fuck all this blogging bullshit…it just ain’t worth it.” Your mileage most certainly may vary. That said I consider adding fuel to the fire in bad taste at the very least. If this ISN’T what I think it’s all about then disregard.
- bpenni | 01/17/2010 @ 14:51It’s not.
I don’t blame you for reading that into it, the timing is unfortunate. As it is, I cannot comment on whether I consider one or the other to be guilty of any of these, since I gave up on following the conversation before I traced it to its genesis.
I will admit, though, that my sympathy for people in general tends to possess a mathematically inversely-proportional relationship to the drama they bring. And that’s an all-the-way general rule, not directed at anybody.
- mkfreeberg | 01/17/2010 @ 15:39Every annoying troll I’ve run across on conservative blogs seems to deploy some combination of these. Right Wing News is utterly infested with moonbats, most of which are guiltier than guilty of these so-called techniques. It’s one reason I don’t visit that site much anymore. Hawkins and his co-bloggers are all excellent writers, but there are too many troll posters over there who seem to delight in pissing-off those who enjoy the articles.
It makes me pine for someone from the other side who can mount an intelligent argument without having to resort to any of these forms of hyperbole and sarcasm.
