Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
From all I’ve been able to read about this, it seems once the law goes into effect, it isn’t going to impact anyone who isn’t breaking one or several of the laws that were already on the books before. So I’m having a little bit of trouble seeing what all the fuss is about.
Reader rob pointed out, in an offline, something funny and sad about this quote:
Immigrants’ rights groups roundly criticized the bill. “The objective is to make life miserable for [illegal] immigrants so that they leave the state,” said Chris Newman, general counsel for the Los Angeles-based National Day Laborer Organizing Network.
Duh.
And I went ahead and stuck back in that word you accidentally left off there, Counselor Newman. You’re welcome.

Yea, I saw this on FoxNews.com yesterday, I believe. The headline read something like “New Arizona law allows arresting of illegal aliens”.
What part of ILLEGAL has never been against the law!!!
- tim | 04/15/2010 @ 09:20Precisely. It’s as silly as saying “new law of gravity actually pulls objects toward the center of the earth.”
- mkfreeberg | 04/15/2010 @ 11:00Ah, ah, ah, Tim. We’re not allowed to call them “illegal aliens” anymore. Now it’s simply “undocumented immigrants.” And as I’m sure you’re aware, it’s not just word games. The word undocumented is meant to suggest they aren’t criminals, trespassers and gate-crashers, just people who haven’t (yet) signed up for full citizenship and formally joined our country.
Personally, I’d promote Maricopa County sheriff Joe Arpaio to become the new head of ICE. If it’s really so unreasonable to round up and deport everyone who isn’t supposed to be here, can’t we at least seal off the border and stop any more of them from getting in?
