Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Washington Post, hat tip to blogger friend Rick.
The Obama administration has decided to give extra time to Americans who say that they are unable to enroll in health plans through the federal insurance marketplace by the March 31 deadline.
Federal officials confirmed Tuesday evening that all consumers who have begun to apply for coverage on HealthCare.gov, but who do not finish by Monday, will have until about mid-April to ask for an extension.
Under the new rules, people will be able to qualify for an extension by checking a blue box on HealthCare.gov to indicate that they tried to enroll before the deadline. This method will rely on an honor system; the government will not try to determine whether the person is telling the truth.
Nifty. Yeah, I can certainly see that Obama’s government has no need to be told what’s going on, when they’re plenty capable of making up all the truth they need.
Our nation’s first President supposedly couldn’t tell a lie…

If only we could handle our annual tax returns the way this Administration handles the ACA…
- nightfly | 03/26/2014 @ 09:37So the law is, essentially, meaningless.
That’ll work out great, I’m sure.
This was / is my biggest problem with the so-called “war on drugs,” and why I’m routinely confused for a libertarian on this issue. If you pass a law, you need to enforce that law. Having a whole category of so-called “crimes” on the books that you have to be retarded to get caught breaking, and almost supernaturally unlucky to get prosecuted for, sends the message that it’s ok to ignore the law. That if enough people agree the law is silly, but still want to be seen as “tough on crime” or whatever, we can simply pass meaningless fig-leaf legislation and hey, everybody wins.
But what if someone suddenly decides that we will enforce those laws? That’s how tyrannies get started. The rule of law has to mean something.
