Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Obama gave Himself a B+ on Oprah Winfrey’s show. To which I asked, along with all sane people, “Hey waitaminnit…it’s a little late for Him to still have time to pop up on the boob tube all weekend long isn’t it?” I mean, what happened to all those messes that had to be mopped up? That health care bill that has to be passed by the end of the year no matter what (for some reason)? He got tired of people telling Him He was holding the mop wrong, and went back on the teevee circuit?
Did He ever get off of it?
FrankJ has a report card of his own to hand to PrezBO. And it doesn’t have B+ on it anywhere, from what I can make out…

Kinda goes downhill from there…
You know what I’d like to see. There are some people out there who voted for Mister Wonderful last year, and aren’t sorry. That percentage figure is somewhere in the forties right about now…what I want to know is, how many of them are not only not sorry — but don’t see any reason to be. The ones who are just as happy with Him as they were fourteen months ago, or even happier.
The ones who think the rest of us should only have been cheering more and more wildly and loudly as this year has progressed.
Because man, that has got to be some bedrock right there. Get the straightjackets out for that crowd. They’re-coming-to-take-me-away, haha, ho ho, hee hee, those nice young men in their clean white coats…
It’s likely to be frightening how high that is. One in five. Maybe higher.

Grading himself on the progressive curve.
44%?
Last I checked, a B+ was in the neighborhood of 88%. 😉
- philmon | 12/14/2009 @ 21:05Even if I were a liberal who more-or-less supported Obama’s policy goals, I still wouldn’t give the man particularly high marks.
Why? Because despite having every advantage – friendly supermajorities in both houses of Congress, a media with its lips firmly glued to his rear end, a popular culture in love with what he represents – he still can’t seem to get anything done. We still don’t have Obama Care or Crap N Trade, gun control is dead issue right now, we’ve got MORE men headed to Afghanistan, we’re still in Iraq, the world still doesn’t love us, we got embarrassed before the Olympic committee, and we actually have fewer friends now than when Bush was in office.
At least Clinton “got things done” for his particular side and could give a decent speech. As a conservative in the 90s, I hated everything Clinton said or did, and I was sure he was going to be the death of this nation. But I was forced to respect his ability to rally the Left and to accomplish big pieces of his legislative agenda.
Obama can’t even do that. All he does is travel the world making speeches, throw good money after bad, and watch helplessly while the economy continues to spiral downward. Beloved by neither side, he’s the very worst sort of useless.
