Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
I do have to disagree with Shep…the part where he apologizes for pointing his finger.
I wouldn’t-a DONE it, but I don’t see where an apology can be expected, and certainly not how one could be owed.
There’s been way too much water over the dam before someone finally tossed up a B.S. flag on this.
I steal a cookie from the cookie jar…you run a hard-right-wing news network…hell, you LIE about stuff all day long, month after month…you say I steal a cookie from the cookie jar — guess what? I still STOLE IT!
Who points it out…it don’t matta. Not one bit. Not if it’s true.

Maybe I’m not fully-caffeinated at this point, but… are you saying the Democrat woman was on-point for calling out Fox as a “right-wing news outlet?” Or Shep was on-point for calling her out for the “Faux News” krep? The latter is what gets MY dander up. I’m pretty sick of it.
- Buck | 02/07/2008 @ 13:26I’m saying here — and as ever — it’s squarely off-topic. At least, when the facts are not in dispute.
And in this specific instance (as Shep pointed out, which is why I think his apology was uncalled-for) the fact that would be disputed would be her comment re “holding noses.” I think what really got Shep’s dander up was that it JUST happened, everybody saw her do it, so her red herring was particularly patronizing and insulting.
I’m letting the accusation toward Fox stand, because this is one of those situations where between the truth of an accusation and the relevance of same, you can only attack one. And the relevance of this charge against Fox, has been in need of attack for a very long time now.
If Fox News says Julius Caesar’s dead, and you don’t like Fox, that does NOT make Caesar a living person. Period.
- mkfreeberg | 02/07/2008 @ 13:36Amen.
Funny thing about … and I didn’t bring it up in a very recent post of mine, but in the conversation that produced that post Fox was mentioned several times. Sal pointed out that it was only factual that Fox broadcast the spot, true. But “Fox” got brought up quite often by this guy and in a tone that has become all too familiar. Dennis called him on it, as did a caller.
Sal did defend himself by saying he mentioned it only as a fact. But it was a fact he seemed to bring up a lot as if there were a certain relevance to who was doing the broadcasting.
“Don’t Fox me”…. I love it.
