Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Unlike the rest of that unending parade of snarky females slapping us bumbling men upside the head claiming to want us to smarten up and do better, this one means it. She’s Blogsister Daphne, a woman of wit, class and substance, who claims to like men because she really does; and she’s upset with our obsession with Flo.
If obsession is the offense, I would point out we didn’t bring up the subject in the first place. But something tells me this is one of those things where “discussion” only exists as an idea…train has left the station…woman-talk-man-listen territory from here on out. We’ve all been there.
And we know the protocol. Wait for her to get done…try like the dickens to avoid doing anything to piss her off any further…stay quiet and out of sight…do something harmless. Like playing Tomb Raider.
For those who can’t bear to stay quiet — Buck represented us reasonably well, I thought. But hey, maybe you think he left something unsaid. I’m staying out of this one. Things reach a fevered pitch, and then they crescendo further to a point where even I start to have some common sense. Best to just stay out of (further) trouble.
Besides, have you noticed what they’ve done with Lara’s rack in the last two games? Great googly moogly.

“Jaded Haven:
Wild forays into rambling farce, swaggering opinion and villainous stories, sprinkled with a ribald lagniappe of jolly smut.”
Huh, I would’ve thought talking about tapping some actress would fall under that.
Man Morgan, gald she didn’t see the ‘skull fucking’ animation vids you had up a few months ago. To say nothing of our comments…whoa Nelly!
- tim | 07/01/2009 @ 13:04I’m staying out of this one.
Heh. Just when I was hoping for some fire-support I find the Marines ain’t comin’.
I haven’t revisited the comment thread today, and was kinda-sorta worried that I’d screwed the pooch over at The Haven. But Daph was by EIP last evening and dropped a couple of comments, so I guess all is well.
- bpenni | 07/01/2009 @ 15:25Let’s see, woman gets all sensitive about something innocent then everything is OK awhile later…hmmm, speaking of “Flo”…yup, I went there…why not? Besides, as Morgan often says, ‘If I’m gonn’a be accused of something at least I want to be guilty of it’.

This leatherneck will follow you through hell & high water, Gen’l Pennington…so long as there’s a point to it. Truth be told, Flo doesn’t pop up on top of my list of fantasies, and I find it tough to crusade for females, be they real or fictitious, to be more motor-y of mouth. Speaking of what female mouths are for…
…g[la]d she didn’t see the ’skull fucking’ animation vids you had up a few months ago.
Heh!
Besides, as Morgan often says, ‘If I’m gonn’a be accused of something at least I want to be guilty of it’.
That’s one of my favorite rules in life. It’s served me well.
- mkfreeberg | 07/01/2009 @ 16:13“Damn, what a bunch of titty babies.”
“What are you talking about?” the husband muttered, momentarily distracted from killing something on his computer game.
“Morgan. Come look at this pity party.”
“In a minute, I’m busy. Besides I saw it yesterday, babe.”
“Jeeze, I was just messing with ’em, now they’re all upset with me.”
“What did you expect? You of all people should know how sensitive men are, especially when it’s a cool woman they actually like that’s giving ’em shit. They get all worried that they’re really dorks underneath all that intelligent manliness. You should apologize.” He was smart enough to wink when he finished fussing at me.
“No fucking way! They get their panties in a twist because I poked them with a cocktail fork for rhapsodizing Flo – I think they should man up and get over themselves. It was funny. They were funny. Besides I’ve already told Morgan I was just dicking around, that I love him to death. Buck too. And I really like Phil.”
“You love Morgan, Buck and Phil?” He’s frowning now, massive explosions erupting from his game.
“Ah Christ on a stick, not you too.”
- Daphne | 07/03/2009 @ 15:34Morgan Rule #1 is If I’m gonna be accused, I wanna be guilty.
So I’m a little confused at this point, Daph. Am I supposed to whine and cry like a little bitch, or dork Flo?
- mkfreeberg | 07/03/2009 @ 17:56Morgan, are you taking this seriously?
- Daphne | 07/03/2009 @ 18:13I’m grokking.
Which means you are too. It is obviously a topic of interest to you that many among the males react positively, or non-negatively, to this caricature-woman. Me, I find it fascinating that she is so revolting to the female side. Until I saw NN’s post I never would have noticed anyone had any reaction at all. But I’ve been asking around, and you are in a clear majority on this among the females. Flo’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard to the fairer sex.
As far as me doing Flo, no that’s not serious. That would cause some fallout over here and I’m not up for the drama, besides of which I’m much happier with what I’ve already got…
- mkfreeberg | 07/03/2009 @ 18:40I don’t know what grokking means.
And no, it’s not a great topic of interest, it just seemed like fresh fodder. But, yes, I do find Flo annoying.
I wasn’t asking if you were serious about Flo. (Of course you’re not) I was asking if you were serious about being pissed at me.
Fuck Flo, I want to know about me and you. I’m egocentric that way.
