Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Tawana Brawley is not doing so well right now.
A week after The Post reported exclusively that rape hoaxer Tawana Brawley’s first $3,764 in garnisheed wages was sent to the man she defamed 25 years ago, she has lost her job — and her bed.
A Rent-A-Center truck pulled up at noon yesterday at the reclusive Brawley’s apartment in the central Virginia town of Hopewell, and two workers removed her mattress, box spring and bed frame.
Brawley — who opened her door for the workers and moved her car for their truck — would not comment on the furniture repo or the loss of her job as a licensed practical nurse at The Laurels of Bon Air nursing home in Richmond.
The News Junkie at Maggie’s Farm wants Al Sharpton to pay her fine.
Seriously, she was an idiot kid at the time, in a family dispute. Her mess began when the grievance crews showed up and exploited a foolish kid. I feel sorry for her. I think she was just trying to avoid a whuppin’ from her father or stepfather or whoever, and quickly got in over her head with her teenage fibs.
In a way, I see both her and Pagones as victims of the race industry.
There are two aspects to that: Brawley’s innocence and Sharpton’s guilt. On the first of those two, I can see both sides. After all…
Brawley, at age 15, crawled covered in feces out of a trash bag in Wappingers Falls, NY, to accuse prosecutor Steven Pagones and five white men of raping her.
:
The 41-year-old single mother of a young girl is required to pay Pagones more than $400,000 under a 1998 court decision in Pagones’ defamation suit against Brawley. A percentage of her weekly paychecks will be garnished — likely for the rest of her life — to pay that judgment. [emphasis mine]
Spending the rest of your life to pay for a mistake you made at age fifteen. Yes, it does seem a bit harsh.
But then…
This past May, Brawley — who remains defiantly unapologetic — collected an undisclosed sum at a New Jersey fund-raiser, Pagones pointed out. [emphasis mine]
Aw. Well, screw her. This world is filled with people who live and work under a sense of fair play, and due to some unfortunate circumstance cannot enjoy the benefits of fair play. Why take all the trouble to bestow those benefits on someone who is lacking in the sense?
Definitely agree about the Sharpton thing, though. How come his share in this thing came to $65,000, and who are these “supporters” who paid it? Suckers.

Sooooo……what is Crystal Gail Mangum up to since her release on February 20, 2013?
Warning: “Wiki”
I wonder if the nice academic folk at DUKE who signed on to a petition, and the nice student activity funded folks banging pots outside the Durham fraternity house, are paying the freight for her?
Where are THEY now?
Did she ever actually get that degree in police psychology? How does one actualize one of those with several felonies on ones permanant record?
