Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Imagery becomes powerful when a single still becomes affixed to a simple idea, in the minds of an emerging majority. And this one has become affixed to a simple idea, within my own mind, that idea being: Liberals have fucking thin skins. Liberals are the little kid brother punk who can dish it out but just can’t take it, and is constantly yelling “MOOOOMMMMM!!! HE’S TOUCHING ME…”
But I watch liberals more often than the average bear does, perhaps a great deal more than I should. I don’t know if “an emerging majority” sees this graphic the same way I do, or even if they would recognize what it’s about…
It’s a creepy story that might get much more interesting in the days ahead. Whoever thought it was a good and common-sense idea to ban the rodeo clown for life, probably wasn’t aware of all the visual lampooning that was done against Obama’s predecessor…and now there is going to be some embarrassment. The way the authorities will deal with that embarrassment is to ignore it, at first, and if that succeeds in making the problem go away then they won’t have to do anything else. Or, maybe they knew exactly what they were doing, they’re gulping from the Obama Kool-Aid by the quart and by the gallon, and they just don’t want to see any graven images in the likeness of their deity.
Hat tip to Kate at Small Dead Animals.

Remember when dissent was the highest form of patriotism? Good times.
This is why I can’t take liberals seriously. All the fancy schmancy degrees and debate tricks and studies and temperature charts in the world won’t convince me that liberal positions are right, because they so obviously don’t believe it themselves. I mean, a rodeo clown!? As Peggy Noonan pointed out, here’s a perfect opportunity for everybody involved to score some free PR. Were I advising the Democrats, I’d make a big ostentatious show of forgiving this clown his transgressions, making conservatives look like idiots in the process. I’d have Obama out there doing those eye-rolls and sighs he does so well: “Every citizen has the right to criticize the President. And after all, if this is the best they can come up with [sigh, eye roll], well, that just shows I’m doing my job for the American people.”
Instead, he has committed thoughtcrime! He must be punished! Lese majeste!!
And you expect me to take you seriously when you claim you’re for freedom, democracy, equality. Or that you’re not just a bunch of fucking fascists, for that matter.
