Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
A nice-looking lady with big boobs walking the streets of New York City…
Donate! Because this must be a real drag or something.
How much shock value should this really have, though. A densely-packed metropolitan area governed by liberals, has some loutish people in it. My goodness, I’m so surprised. Some of the behavior is over the top, like the guy walking briskly alongside for five minutes. Other guys are in hot water for merely acknowledging her presence.
Which raises two questions about the clip, here. First, what is the goal? I tend to wonder that, anyway, when someone asks me to donate. The tendency is heightened when the requester for donations calls it out as a problem that men are (politely) acknowledging a woman’s presence. What is this, “don’t speak to her unless she speaks to you”? Two classes of people? I’m not the first to wonder this about modern militant feminism and I won’t be the last.
The other question is about the thing the video is supposed to answer: What were the ten hours like? As the commentary on Hot Air put it,
To get two minutes of guys catcalling, they had to shoot ten hours of walking. It’s not likely that the other 9 hours 58 minutes contained a lot of really objectionable behavior since some of what made it into the video was fairly benign.
When Hot Air went back to comment on it some more, they managed to bring back this gem:
Hi, Feminists.
If you are upset by misogyny, and women being used, take on the Democratic Party.
But you won't.
— Free Ebolacare (@lheal) October 30, 2014
++snort++ No…they won’t. It isn’t about protecting women, it’s about electing, protecting, empowering and emboldening democrats. Bill Clinton proved that.

Feminists hate the world they’ve created. Once upon a time, men were expected to treat women respectfully,(and many of us still do) and would put themselves in peril to protect them. Nowadays, womyn expect to be treated like men and the complain when they are.
- Frank the Wanderer | 10/30/2014 @ 07:35Always amusing to see studies in Humanities where one party knows they’re “on camera” and the other does not.
- CaptDMO | 10/30/2014 @ 08:09Is there any map showing the neighborhoods where the worst, best, and in between “behavior” was condensed/edited to “prove” 10 hours in Manhattan demonstrates the ongoing failure of “special” considerations for “special” people?
Not that it really matters with a lack of “data” on the highlighted/condensed demographic deemed “offensive”.
All KINDS of questions for the methodology, and “narrative”.
End of video – “100+ instances of verbal street harassment took place within 10 hours involving people of all backgrounds”
Fucking hogwash! Oh, sure those exhibiting these behavior are professionals…who just happen to dress like thugs and lowlifes. Right.
I know we’re not suppose to notice bad behavior when it’s perpetrated by those of us who are not White. Well screw that. I grew up and attended high school in a city and then went on to live in the suburbs so I’ve witnessed and experienced both worlds.
What you don’t see in suburbia is gang killings and crime overall…and women getting harassed on the street.
What you do see in the city, that being the behavior of people of lower social, economic ladder – Blacks and Latino – is the opposite. Behold the video and it’s pathetic and disgusting glory.
I could give two shits about whatever the freak the feminists standpoint is. You just have to ask yourself, do you want your mom, sister, girlfriend or wife treated like that?
Yea, didn’t think so.
- tim | 10/30/2014 @ 09:05Putting that on video was a big mistake.
Lots of people still believe their lying eyes; they just won’t say so. How many white folks were in that video, do you reckon? Four? Five? If that’s everyday misogyny, well…. it sure does seem to have some closely correlated demographics, no?
They have succeeded in making exactly the opposite point from what they intended.

No. But, you have to bear in mind the feminists are the ones who get to decide what “that” is. It’s obvious they don’t see any difference between the creepy five-minute brisk-walker, and the far more mundane act of complimenting the lady on her appearance. Or, simply saying Hello.
Where’s it go from there? Holding the door open for a woman? A lot of feminists object to that, too. What about the nice looking lady who was five-foot-nothing trying to jump up in the air so she could get something off the top shelf, so I dropped what I was doing & got it for her. Was that out of line?
And come to think of it, where exactly do these donations go? Education camps? Seriously, what do they do with the money?
- mkfreeberg | 10/30/2014 @ 16:31Catcalls, whistles and comments – oh the horror. Never mind the real plight of women in the world; forced clitoris removal, arranged marriage, stonings, physical scarring, no right to education, no right of property ownership, no access to judicial proceedings, etc. These imagined slights to the first world snowflakes make me sick. Get a real problem.
