Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
Phil’s comments about Ted Nugent got us to thinking about this video, since we have been a constant victim of the Mondegreen since, at least, Wild Cherry with “Play That Funky Music White Boy.”

Cheech and Chong sang “s’cuse me while I kiss this fly!” Which I always thought funny. But then again, I WAS on drugs at the time. 😉
There used t’be a blog devoted to mondegreens in the way-back, but I lost it. (sigh) They had some good ones, too.
- bpenni | 07/29/2009 @ 20:51Years ago, my wife got me the book “‘Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy” …. it is a freakin’ hoot. But what really pushes it to excellence is some of the illustrations.
A few of my favorites are:
One thing that’s happened to me as an adult, though — aided by, I think, the clarity of digital music, is I’ll be listening to a song and suddenly get the correct lyrics when I either a) never even thought I’d figured out the real lyrics, or b) hear the correct lyric when I thought it was something completely different. Can’t think of an example right now off the top of my head, but it happens all the time (this craaaaazy love of mine …. dammit… stop me. It’s an illness I have 😉 )
Oh, and for the record, my wife corrected me in that Amos Mose was not named after “a man with a claw”, but rather “a man of the cloth”. Thanks, sweetie. I owe you one.
Yeah, she had a good hard laugh about that one.
