Alarming News: I like Morgan Freeberg. A lot.
American Digest: And I like this from "The Blog That Nobody Reads", because it is -- mostly -- about me. What can I say? I'm on an ego trip today. It won't last.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: We were following a trackback and thinking "hmmm... this is a bloody excellent post!", and then we realized that it was just part III of, well, three...Damn. I wish I'd written those.
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler: ...I just remembered that I found a new blog a short while ago, House of Eratosthenes, that I really like. I like his common sense approach and his curiosity when it comes to why people believe what they believe rather than just what they believe.
Brutally Honest: Morgan Freeberg is brilliant.
Dr. Melissa Clouthier: Morgan Freeberg at House of Eratosthenes (pftthats a mouthful) honors big boned women in skimpy clothing. The picture there is priceless--keep scrolling down.
Exile in Portales: Via Gerard: Morgan Freeberg, a guy with a lot to say. And he speaks The Truth...and it's fascinating stuff. Worth a read, or three. Or six.
Just Muttering: Two nice pieces at House of Eratosthenes, one about a perhaps unintended effect of the Enron mess, and one on the Gore-y environ-movie.
Mein Blogovault: Make "the Blog that No One Reads" one of your daily reads.
The Virginian: I know this post will offend some people, but the author makes some good points.
Poetic Justice: Cletus! Ah gots a laiv one fer yew...
The new motherboard finally showed up last night.
Looks like we have a computer building project on Saturday. Happy happy, joy joy.
Lots of false starts to this one. And this was the last component needed. Isn’t that always the way things go? Why is that?

Have fun ya nerd! Why not get a more satisfying and relaxing hobby such as boating.
Example: On the 4th I went down to the docks to watch the city sponsored fireworks up close and personal. Climbing aboard and smelling gas, I lifted the deck hatch to discover a good two inches of fuel in the bilge just as the pyrotechnics commenced overhead. Discovering the leaking line responsible I climbed below to change it out as pop bottle rockets and firecrackers rained down all around, visions of the iconic Vietnam era photo of the self immolating Buddhist monk dancing in my head.
Good times.
- westsoundmodern | 07/08/2011 @ 09:21Yeah, I think waiting for the UPS man to show up is plenty enough excitement for me.
- mkfreeberg | 07/08/2011 @ 09:25The power supply fan in my new box started making a grinding noise. It’s the media PC, so noise is a factor. I jammed the fan and ran it for a couple of days with a temperature monitor and determined that passive cooling would be enough. It got hot, but was within the temperature range of all components. So I cut the wires to the fan and bricked the power supply. Then I said a bad word. Then I ordered a premium fan and I join you in waiting for the UPS guy.
- Jason | 07/08/2011 @ 11:51Wow, that’s interesting. I didn’t know you could screw around with the cooling system like that and keep on going on a wing-and-a-prayer. Guess it makes sense to overdo it to some extent…
- mkfreeberg | 07/08/2011 @ 11:53You guys sound like you know what you’re doing, but if you develop a leak in the fuel line let me know and I can handle it for you. 😉
